There are many search engines on the Internet which can be used to look for what you need to find. It depends on what you type in to get the desired result from them. This also applies for searches which are performed on specific websites to search that website itself for information.
Instead of typing in a general word or idea, try to be more specific. For example, if you are searching for 'cars'...don't just type "cars"....type a specific type of car such as "2005 Ferrari F430"
Be specific but still general. When websites are made, they are constructed using keywords to enable them to be searched for. If you are too specific, the search engine may not find the website. For example, search for "2005 Ferrari F430 Florida", not "2005 Ferrari F430 yellow graphite aftermarket 5 spoke wheels F1 shifter targa top black leather seats Z rated tires twin turbo in Miami, Florida".
Other word such as 'and' or 'or' can be used in the search to narrow it down. For example "2005 Ferrari or Lamorghini" will result in both Ferrari and Lamborghinis of the 2005 model year being displayed. The 'advanced search' can also be used to narrow down your search.

Go to a reliable website for the desired media that you are searching for AND THEN search inside that website for what you are looking for. If your are looking for pictures of something, go to a website such as flickr.com or corbis.com. If you are looking to buy something, go to a website such as ebay.com or amazon.com. If you are looking for videos of something, go to a website such as youtube.com, or break.com.
Exact phrases can be searched for by enclosing them in quotations ( " " ). For example, by searching for "Enzo Ferrari", the search will only retrieve pages with 'Enzo Ferrari' in the text and in that order (not Ferrari Enzo).
After a search is complete, before clicking on a link, read the description below the link. If the description seems irrelevant, don't click on the link. Searche results are ranked based on how many users click on the link. If you take the time to read the description and choose carefully which result you want to read, future users who search for the same thing you did will end up reading the most relevant link, saving them time and agravation.
