Items you need:
- The Product Key (Can be found on a sticker on the side or bottom of the computer)
- A Windows Install CD (Must correspond with the product key (If your product key says Home Edition, you need a Home Edition Install CD))
- CD-ROM Drive
Step 1:
Save any files that you do not want to delete to an external hard drive or other removable disk. All installed programs will also be deleted, so make sure that you have the install CDs for those programs in order to reinstall them.
|
Step 2:
Download or save the drivers that correspond to your computer model or motherboard. These drivers can be downloaded from the website that corresponds to your manufacturer of the computer or motherboard.

DO NOT install Windows through the auto play application that pops up automatically.
|
Step 5:
Restart the computer
|
Step 6:
Press any key at the screen that says "Press any Key To Boot From CD..."
|
Step 7:
If "Press any Key To Boot From CD..." does not showup, and Windows continues to boot, you need to edit the BIOS settings so that the computer boots from the CD drive before the hard drive.
|
Step 8:
Follow the instructions on the screen to install Windows
|
Step 9:
After Windows is installed, the drivers need to be installed. Drivers tell things such as your Ethernet Adapter, Audio Interface, and Display Adapter what to do in order to properly and efficiently function.
|
Step 10:
After the drivers are installed, download available Windows Updates.
|
Step 11:
Restart your computer and enjoy!
