Instead of putting your old stuff out for garbage, why not post an advertisement on Craigslist.org and get some extra spending cash for it? Posting an ad to Craigslist is pretty much self explainatory. If you have a lot of experience using the internet, it should be a breeze. If not, here are a few tips to begin using Craigslist to make money for you.
Step 1:
Begin by going to Craigslist.org. This is what the page will look like if it is the first time going to Craigslist. Start by selecting the state in which you live in.
Step 2:
Select the city that is closest to you
Step 3:
Select " Post To Classifieds " (near the top left of the page.
Step 4:
Select which type of posting you wish to make
Step 5:
Select which category the posting corresponds to
This is the page where you create your posting
Step 7:
Enter a title which you summarizes the description of your posting. For example: " 46" G.E. Television "
Step 8:
Enter the price which you like like to sell your item for. For example: "$100 OBO" ("OBO" means Or Best Offer).
Step 9:
Enter a location which is more specific than the city that you have picked.
Step 10:
Enter information which potential buyers can contact you at. Either choose "hide" or "anonymize". If you choose "hide", you must enter your e-mail address or a phone number in the posting. If you choose "anonymize", enter you e-mail address in the two green boxes. I suggest to choose "anonymize". It is less likely that you will receive SPAM e-mails.
Step 11:
Now it is time to enter a description for your item. This description can be based on the HTML language used to write websites, or it can be simple text. Tips to use HTML can be viewed here. In order to

"<b>" is used to diplay the text in bold, dont forget to use "</b>" to end the use of bold font.
"<br>" is needed to skip down to the next line, only one is needed to "break" to the next line. Use two to display a blank line that seperates the text.

Step 12:
Although you do not need to post pictures of you product, potential buyers like to see images so images need to be posted.
Step 13:
After "Add/Edit Images" has been clicked, this is what is displayed. Up to four (4) pictures can be added to the posting. Try to use pictures with a small resolution to speed up the upload time. for example, a picture with a resolution of 400 x 300 is going to upload faster than a picture with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Pictures can also be added using HTML code to imbed pictures from another site (See Basic HTML here).
After a picture is selected from a file on your hard-drive, this is what is displayed.
Step 14:
After your posting has been written, click "Continue" to continue on to the next page.
Your posting will be displayed for you to see what other will see if they click on your add.
Step 15:
Either click "Continue" to continue on and post your ad, or "Edit" to go back and edit the ad.
Step 16:
After you have read the terms of use, and agree to them, click "ACCEPT the terms of use"
Step 17:
Enter the two words that are displayed, with a space in between them. This step prevents automated computers from setting up bogus advertisements which could cause the Craigslist website to crash. If you cannot understand the words that are displayed, just click the top blue button and a new set of words will be displayed. After the words are entered, click "Continue".
Step 18:
If you chose "anonymize" on step 10, select the message in your E-Mail which was sent from Craigslist. Save this e-mail message until the item is sold or you wish to delete the advertisement posting. This message is used to delete or update your ad.
Step 19:
Click the link in the e-mail which you received from Craigslist
Step 20:
In this step, you ad is displayed exactly how it would look to those who click on it in the category you selected. Here, you may select to publish the ad and make it active for anybody to view, edit the ad and make changes, or delete it and forget about it.
Step 21: If you clicked "publish" this is what you will see. Your advertisement is now active for anybody to view.
If you want to delete your advertisement, just go to the e-mail you received, click on the link, and select "delete" when you are routed back to a page that will look like the one in Step 21.
