You should always back up your pictures which are on your cell phone. If you have an iPhone, it is easier than you think to download the pictures to a PC. iTunes does not really let you save your pictures easily, and if you are using a computer, which the iPhone is not setup for, it it even more complicated to use iTunes. Follow directions below, and you can transfer pictures from an iPhone to any PC without installing any software.
Step 1. Connect the iPhone to the PC. Drivers will automatically be installed.
Step 2. Click START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SCANNER AND CAMERA WIZARD
Step 3. Select the Apple iPhone icon
Step 4. Click OK
Step 5. Click NEXT
Step 6. Select the pictures you want to transfer
Step 7. Click NEXT
Step 8. Select a name for the pictures.
For example if you type "iPhone Pictures" the pictures will be saved as:
iPhone Pictures 001.jpg, iPhone Pictures 002.jpg etc.
Step 9. Select a location to save the pictures.
You will most likely save them in the My Pictures folder
Step 10.
You may select to delete the pictures after the transfer.
Step 11. Click NEXT (to begin the transfer of the pictures)
Step 12. Click NEXT (to select: "Nothing. I'm finished working with these pictures")
Step 13. Click FINISH.
The location where you saved your pictures should automatically open.
If it did not open, go to the location where you saved your pictures in Step 9 to see your pictures.
